FAQ

What is the teacher/student ratio?

​Our goal is to have no more than 1:10 teacher/student ratio for each pod.  

 

Will my child be provided a rest time?

Yes, after lunch and recess we will have a time for silent reading where older students will be encouraged to read and younger students may choose to nap or enjoy their books.

What type of assessments will be administered to track learning?

The following assessments will be administered each trimester to monitor student growth: PK developmental assessment, Developmental Spelling Inventory(BEAR), Phonological Awareness (Literacy First), Phonics (Literacy First), and Developmental focus skills in Math.  and Masterbooks (Math). 


 

What is the communication process with parents?

Parents will receive monthly newsletters with announcements of upcoming events, grade level/monthly curriculum focus, and special activities. These newsletters will be sent home at the beginning of each month. Families will be informed of upcoming events, field trips, projects, and the monthly learning focuses. We will also communicate with families through the Remind app. 


 

What kind of reporting is needed for the state?

What curriculum will you be using?

BWLP & WW are committed to providing a well-rounded education. We will incorporate elements from established curriculums such as Structured Literacy by Payne Education Center,  Pre-K nursery rhyme based curriculum, Rooted & Reading, The Good and the Beautiful, and Little Patriots by American Cornerstone Institute, while also developing our own curriculum tailored to meet students’ needs as well as cover the Oklahoma Academic Standards.  This ensures that your child receives a comprehensive and enriching learning experience, designed to foster their academic growth and success.

Are there any tax credits that can be applied for your learning pod? 

Yes!  It is up to individual families to decide whether they would like to apply.  You can visit parentalchoice.ok.gov/homehomeschool
